Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 25, 2026

9Tools features nine hand-picked tools every day. This policy explains what data we collect when you use the site, why we collect it, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect the minimum needed to run the site, and we never sell your data.

What we collect

  • Email address — when you subscribe to our newsletter, or the email you use at checkout when submitting a tool (shared with us by Stripe).
  • Submission details — when you submit a tool, we store its website, name, description, and category, plus the launch day it is scheduled on.
  • Payment status — payments are processed entirely by Stripe; we never see or store your card details. Your card is only authorized at submission and charged if your tool is approved.
  • Usage data — we count clicks on featured tools to show popularity. These counts are aggregate and not tied to your identity.

How we use it

  • To send you the newsletter you subscribed to. Every email includes an unsubscribe link.
  • To review submissions, schedule approved tools onto launch days, and prevent duplicate listings.
  • To keep the service secure and prevent abuse.
  • We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

Third-party services

  • Stripe processes all payments and card authorizations; their processing is governed by Stripe's privacy policy. If a submission is rejected, we cancel the authorization and delete the associated Stripe customer record.
  • Firebase Authentication (Google) handles sign-in for site administrators only — visitors and submitters never need an account.
  • Tool logos are loaded through Google's favicon service, and homepage screenshots through WordPress mShots, based on each tool's public domain.
  • Our database is hosted on MongoDB infrastructure.

Data retention & deletion

  • Subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Featured listings are kept as part of the public archive; rejected submissions are not published and their payment holds are released.
  • You can request deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us.
